Prepare the red carpet, dust off the dinner jacket and strike up the band ­ it's time for voting to open for the inaugural Countryfile Magazine Reader Awards. We're asking you to let us know your best locations, activities and foodie choices. There's even a special category for your rural hero, that person you believe has done most for the countryside this year.
The last votes will be taken on 19 August 2008.


All nominations to the Countryfile Magazine Reader Awards will be entered into a prize draw and one lucky reader will win a two-night break for two, with bed and breakfast, at the recently refurbished Ye Olde Bell, Barnby Moor, courtesy of Experience Nottinghamshire. The winner can redeem the offer of a two-night stay bed and breakfast during 2008. Offer excludes Christmas, new year and bank holidays and is subject to availability.
